A day at Stormwind

Hello all.
Truly Xmas week has been a busy one, especially after I started playing World of Warcraft. I've decided to settle down on a class, that is Human Paladin! I guess I want to be a party-useful character so it's easier for me to get a group. I am currently only level 13.

Today, a lot happened at the city of Stormwind. Everything in there is so full of Christmasy stuff. There was this NPC Gnome who said "Free gifts at Ironforge!". I panicked cuz I didn't know how to go to Ironforge, it seems far away. Awhile later, I clicked around anyhow, AND SUDDENLY, I turned into this Christmas gnome (I was a look-like-maggieQ paladin):

Fooking xmas gnome..

The buff said it would last for 30 mins. DANG. I had no mood to go out of the city to fight monsters with my fugly shameful-looking Gnome. No way. Anyway, being a newbie, I needed some starter guide. I decided to call out for help in Stormwind, asking if there's any SG players willing to lend a hand. Apparently a few people whispered me "hand". Well I only managed to get a hold on two of them. The first one, from Tampines, invited me to a guild right away. Weee! He also gave me 3 gold. Double weee! I had only like 75 silver. I used the money to learn all the skills available.

The other guy was of a different guild. He helped me quite a bit with my murlock quest, and then he showcased me some of his Druid prowess. Just when you thought an Xmas Gnome is silly...

... a dancing bear shows up.

Then he turned to an uglier thing called Moonkin...

(Click on the pics to enlarge)

Convinced that I was awestruck, he then bid farewell soon after. You might have noticed that my WoW nick is Thyral. Well if you happen to be a WoW player, do donate to me! A gold for the poor paladin will bring you good karma. Or two. I decided not to censor the Druid's nick, but please do not bug him to do his stunning bear/moonkin dance. Anyhow, I can't wait till I get to level 17+. My Tampines friend said he'd bring me for a raid! My very first raid.

For those who caught no balls on the whole crap I just posted, I beg to be pardoned because I was too excited to not have posted that. Some quick facts on what's up on my life:

-Cousin came over to stay from Indo
-He sleeps in my room
-He just fcking farted in his sleep!!! GRRR
-Chalet at Pasir Ris was massively chaotic
-But met two pretty girls there namely Peggy and Winnie
-I need to stock up on WoW prepaid card
-Today later is New Year's eve, going out for dinner
-My relative gonna be there & also my chatty cousin
-I'm getting ready some ear plugs

Daybreak

I'm really just a simple person.
That I could eat,
That I could sleep,
That I could live today, I am grateful.

I don't need a golden Rolex,
Or a house heaven-high,
Don't need ten thousand friends,
Just enough is one who tells me I'm not alone.

So please don't make my life so hard if I can't meet your expectation?
I desire but a simple life.

And I love my mom lots!

Slow internet?

TAIPEI, Taiwan - A strong earthquake off Taiwan's southern coast damaged undersea cables, disrupting phone and Internet service Wednesday in much of Taiwan, China and Japan.

Repairing the cables could take three weeks, but the situation will improve daily, said Lin Jen-hung, vice general manager of Chunghwa Telecom Co., Taiwan's largest phone company.

The company also lost 60 percent of its telephone service to the U.S.

Chunghwa said 98 percent of Taiwan's communications capacity with Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong was disrupted.

Hong Kong telephone company PCCW Ltd., which also provides Internet service, said the quake cut its data capacity in half. Many Internet users were unable to access Web sites in parts of America, Taiwan and South Korea. Calls to Taiwan were not going through.

In China, Internet access was cut or had become extremely slow, said an official from China Netcom, the country's No. 2 phone company. The official, who would not give his name, said the cause was thought to be the earthquake.

Businesses in various parts of the city also said they were experiencing Internet access problems.

-----------------

No wonder my internet been slow since yesterday. Who knew an earthquake so far away can cause the internet around the world to screw up. For now you can only steadily surf net that doesn't go from the 2 severed undersea cables, such as local websites. Damn, I wish my school website would go down too.

Anyway, I'm off to chalet for 3 days, won't be around for some time...

Xmas

Sigh, I'm damn damn tired. Mentally and physically.
Really disappointed with some people and myself. I thought it would be great if, for one day, I could be nice to everyone. I didn't realize that my temper is too short to be a nice person.

Guess where was this

On Xmas eve, places I went were so crowded and there were MANY people walking SO *censored* SLOW! I hate brainless people who stop in the middle of the road for nothing, blocking the traffic behind them. But I hate myself more for not being able to tolerate such a minor thing... and still blog about it yet =/

And some minor misfortunes happened during my xmas eve outing. But nevertheless, I still enjoyed it cuz I've got great cliques. I am very very sorry to Peggy and Winnie that I didn't make it to her surprise bday party, really sorry. I hope you guys had a great time still. Btw I think Peggy is very nice to her sister. The world would be a more peaceful place if all siblings are like them.

This year's Xmas feels like a normal day to me. Stayed home the whole day, except for dinner when I went out to buy food. Was supposed to err.. have fun with friends but Karad was being a lazy boar so it was cancelled. OH and by the way:

A screenshot of my monitor. I know you're jealous.

Ahh! Cunning Blizzard people. They hooked me with temptations. I bought WoW starter package and it has a "free" first month of play. Well, this "free" thing cost me SGD$39.90. And guess what! You can't make use of this "free" first month until you "top-up" your account with the 46 bucks prepaid card (or credit card payment). Cunning, as I said.

Xmas Eve 2006

First of all, Merry Xmas to everyone!
I'm sorry I haven't got the time to blog, this Xmas week I will be quite busy, but I will blog properly once I have the time. The only time I have right now is the 5 mins of waiting for my cup noodle to be ready.

My Xmas wish is for EVERYONE to be happy, just for today and tommorow, please don't allow yourselves to be sorrowful no matter what. Those staying at home alone, I wish I could invite you all out to celebrate Xmas, but nevertheless it is not a reason to be sad over. Hopefully, you are able to celebrate Xmas with your family because such a chance is rarer than you think.

So once again, to all my family, friends and enemies, MERRY CHRISTMAS! Be joyful!

Porcelain skin

Japanese celebrities have porcelain for skin. Especially on the face. I bet the word pimple doesn't appear in Japanese dictionary.

Christmas is coming real soon, and for the first time in my life I'm not looking forward to it. Mindshut. Anyway hopefully tommorow is a sunny day. Going Escape Theme Park... to escape.

The Human Spirit (Passive)

Diplomacy (Passive)
10% bonus to faction point gain

Mace Specialization (Passive)
Humans get +5 to Mace skill

Available Classes: Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warrior, Warlock

Nature Resistance (Passive)
All Night Elves get +10 Nature Resistance

Available Classes: Druid, Hunter, Priest, Rogue, Warrior

Stoneform (Active)
While active, grants immunity to Bleed, Poison, and Disease effects
Increases Armor by 10%
Lasts 8 sec - 3 min cooldown

Gun Specialization (Passive)
Dwarves get +5 to Gun Skill

Frost Resistance (Passive)
All Dwarves get +10 Frost Resistance

Find Treasure (Active)
Activate to see treasure chests on mini map
Lasts until canceled - no cooldown

Available Classes: Hunter, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warrior

Escape Artist (Active)

Instant - 1 min cooldown

Expansive Mind (Passive)
Increase Intelligence by 5%

Arcane Resistance (Passive)
All Gnomes get +10 Arcane Resistance

Engineering Specialization (Passive)
15 skill bonus to Engineering

Available Classes: Mage, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior

Good ol' humans... I think Stealth Detection is a useful skill, but situational. I can't comment for Diplomacy and The Human Spirit. As for Sword & Mace Specialization, ain't too shabby.

Me & Human - Human is alright, I guess. But Human is all too... general? I don't know the word for it. I will choose Paladin, Warrior, Mage or Warlock. Human Rogue or Priest also sound good, as I said the Human race is very general.

Night Elf's Shadowmeld is indubitably useful, while Wisp Spirit and Quickness are both handy not-so-situational skills. Nature Resistance is just icing on the cake.

Me & Night Elf - They look relatively cooler than the rest of the classes and that alone is a big plus point. Aesthetically pleasing, looking strong and steadfast, definitely my type. Druid, Hunter and Rogue will do for these guys. Warrior and Priest suit Human better.

Among all, I think Dwarves's Stoneform stands out the most. I don't know how good Find Treasure is, but Gun Specialization and Frost Resistance look appealing.

Me & Dwarf - Personally, I don't mind having a Dwarven character. They look stouty and sturdy. I'd go for Warrior or Paladin for this race. Rogue, Hunter, Priest don't seem to cut it for them, the Dwarves don't look that agile to me, nor magically potent. Gun-Rogue is still viable, Dwarven Sniper style and all.

The Gnome's Escape Artist skill seems very situational, but it does save your butt whenever you get trapped. Expansive Mind is a good bonus for magic classes, while Arcane Resistance and Engineering Specialization have got their own usefulness.

Me & Gnome - Uhh, for one their looks don't appeal to me. For a brief moment it seems like such a waste to pay SGD$45 for 2 months to play as a Gnome. Like, a friend comes along and ask you,
"What WoW character are you?"
"Erm. A Gnome?"
"Pfft!"
Other than that, they'd make a good Warlock or Mage. Probably an okay Rogue, but no way as Warrior - they are Gnomes afterall!

This review is not complete, due to my inability in getting info on Alliance's new race, the Draenei. So far, here are my top 5:

Human Mage
Human Paladin
Human Priest
Human Rogue
Human Warrior
Human Warlock

Night Elven Druid
Night Elven Hunter
Night Elven Priest

Night Elven Rogue
Night Elven Warrior
Dwarven Hunter

Dwarven Paladin
Dwarven Priest
Dwarven Rogue
Dwarven Warrior
Gnome Mage
Gnome Rogue
Gnome Warlock
Gnome Warrior

Any experienced players out there would like to give me some pointers, please leave me a message and stick around =D

Staged

Merry Xmas to whoever picked my 20 dollars I accidentally dropped.
Santa came early for you.

Damn sad can. I went to Paragon's cold storage to buy some sushi for lunch, then before paying at the counter I realised I lost my 20 bucks. Lame sushi auntie don't know how to speak English, I was forced to use my limited vocabulary of Chinglish (half chinese half english) to tell her to keep the sushi for me (while I go back home to take some money). Then she said something in Chinese to me.

blank blank blank pay first blank blank blank then give me.

That was as much as I could comprehend. Pay first? Then give me? Hmmm. Aiyah, auntie ah, how to pay first, no money ah...

I walked away from her carrying my unpaid sushi. Then when no one was looking, I ditched it someplace safe, then run back home to get my wallet. When I returned, I forgot where I ditched my sushi at. I found it after 5 mins of sushi-hunting. It was there besides its other frozen friends.

(if you are not a gamer, this is as far as today's post goes)

A few posts ago, I promised that I would post an update of my... World of Warcraft affair... so here it is!

No, I still haven't start playing, deeply regretted. Thanks to FYP *glooms*. However, for this special game, I've made plans ahead, so I can spend less time deciding in the future! For those who don't know what is World of Warcraft (WoW for short), it is the love biggest Massive-Multiplayer-Online-Role-Playing-Game (MMORPG) and by far the most successful one, next to Diablo 2. If you still don't follow, maybe you should have stopped at the salmon's story.

I have decided decided to play in this server: Gorgonnash
Most Singaporeans that I know reside in that server, and from what I heard, Australians too. I chose this out of 283 other servers, reason being most people that I know is in Gorgonnash (aside from Blackrock), so there.

And as for my choice of faction: Alliance
Now that there will be Blood Elves in the new expansion, I wouldn't mind playing Horde. But again, most of my friends play Alliance so if I go to Horde, I can't team up with them.

Here onwards, the choices will be more... delicate.
I'll continue tommorow, too sleepy =p

B-rain dead

Fellow readers, as I am typing right now, the weather outside is still pouring incessantly, mercilessly. In case you haven't notice, it's been raining for 27 hours (and counting). All along I've been fond of this kind of weather, for what it's best known as; a sleep inducer! But not this time. The detestable weather is getting to my nerves, really. Here's why...

*sound of drizzling rain and thunders*

It was yesterday, near midnight that I decided to go to Nicholas' house to take some video for my project research. Little did I realise that the rain wasn't getting any lighter, and this was going to be an adventure I would soon regret. I got out of my house, and as soon as I reach the swimming pool, there was a certain black colored frog jumped out of the bush, attempting to scare me to death. I told him it wasn't funny at all, and I went ahead walking into this certain dark alley nearby, and saw:

THIS!

I startled, took a step back, and stared at it. For a moment, I thought I saw its eyes moving to take a quick glance at me. The back of its head has been torn off. The first that came to my mind was, who could have abandoned her doll here? I did a quick fact check with my brain. In this era, such doll is a rarety, parents usually give their children soft toys or plushies, teddy bears, but not a baby doll. Even if someone owned it, accidentally broke its head, and ditched it away, she wouldn't put it sitting at one corner like that. The work of a twisted mind?

Anyway, when I reached Nich's house, the sky was pissing down furiously like nobody's business. My slippery sandals did little to help me walk, my feet slided off on the ground like 8 times. The nearby grandma looking at me with a puzzled face. She must have thought I was ice-skating. So, I had my video taken as soon as the rain calmed down, then headed back home to rush up my other work. And as if my short adventure was not mischievous enough, this had to happen:

The stupid slippery sandal came off and floated on water.

Couldn't get anymore miserable =(

Sleepless nights

I will begin today's blog with the unfortunate event that happened 10 mins ago. I was joyfully showering in my bathroom, and then out of a sudden everything went pitch-dark. I had soap on my face and I went like, "WTF!".

Turned out it was my unobservant father wanting to use the toilet, and he pressed the light button thinking that the light was off. Then he went something like, "Oi, who's inside?". So, I shouted "Don't turn off the bloody light!" right, then my dad JUST WALKED AWAY to another toilet without switching on the light! For your information, my bathroom doesn't have a window, so for a moment I know how it feels to be blind. Scowling and cursing, I grabbed my towel and used like my special-infra-red-eyes ability to find my way out... yeah, right. Actually my bathroom is small so I could get to the door easily.

I think know I have a bad, bad temper. Most of my friends in school don't believe it but I think my closer friends know it. Especially those who have been playing game with me.. heheh. Anyway this is not a topic I'd like to discuss in today's entry.

SO. What is up with me not blogging in the past few days? Same ol' excuses: Busy, busy, busy! My FYP (Final Year Project) is seriously taking up most of my time. I'm not getting enough sleep, that I can tell from the defiance my body is showing. Puffy eyes, cracking skin, clogged brain, long fingernails, hair as long as orangutan's. Amidst the heavy workload that I do in my room, I made a new friend, he claim that he was my FYP Conscience:

He's so scary you can't make up what he's saying.

I think what he's trying to say was, "Stop fcuking slacking and do your work". And that is how he looks like at night. Strangely, he's never around whenever I do my work. Most often, he pops out of nowhere once I stop doing work and like, chat on MSN for awhile. Mr. Conscience does not mind that I take a short break once I've done enough work for the day. There was this one time, when I didn't feel like continuing my work, he came and gave me a right-hand jab on the face.

Ow!

Now you know why I haven't been blogging for the past few days! I am honoured to have people reading my blog, even talked to me about it in school and elsewhere! So I'd like to seek your understanding if my blog is momentarily inactive, I promise to do a better job once my project is cleared (in February, *sigh*). So, if you want me to blog more, then help me out!

S.O.S needed

Today is sadness and boredom.

Badminton session been postponed to next week. Don't know if I can play by next week, I'm practically buried alive by my final project. Other than going out for dinner awhile, I had my ass nailed to the chair doing work the whole day. What? I detect a few non-believers out there... I've got a picture to proof it:

Working in full concentration.

Would also like to apologize to my friends, I feel guilty for not spending enough time socializing. If you were in my shoes, you would so totally understand... and you'd have a smelly feet. Oh, by the way, if anyone is free and would like to lend a hand to the poor guy in the picture above, do leave a message.

I'm DEAD serious.

I'd pay a fair amount to my helpers for doing a series of easy-peanut-butter-jelly-anyone-can-do tasks. But I expect to get things done right. Any takers? Just voice out, I don't bite... I hope.

Force of time

It is exactly one week to my first critique (project presentation). Wow.

Today I went to school to do some work, but time passed by in a blink of an eye. I wish time was within our control, where we can extend time at will, and speed it up when I want to. But us humans don't deserve to control time, for time is the most powerful force, while humans are the greediest species.

Anyway, in school today, I did a bit of work before I got enticed to a nearby game of monopoly and joined in. I nearly won, having acquired 4 colored sets with houses here and there, but time was up before my investment returns. Darn! I usually own at monopoly okay. Am proud of it. LOL.

Something I found quite amusing/interesting last night:

The ever-wealthy Donald Trump viewed my friendster!
*overjoyed*
Maybe I'll become rich instantaneously.

But weird. How did he get to me? No connection leh...

Aiyah.. fake one.. spell apprentice also wrong. =(
*sad*

Haagen-Daz coffee ice cream owns all.

Nasi lemak shouldn't be looked down upon. Despite it's price, it contains good enough a combination of food (though most stalls don't give enough fish meat).

Anyway, Mr Joseph is looking for a job so if you have any lobang, contact him at.. err I'm not really allowed to disclose information without permission, so just contact me ASAP! And in case you haven't read our conversation, it musn't involve publicity.. or nasi lemak.

And I'm currently Mr. SUPERSTAR 2006 on Peggy's blog! Yeah, I copied improvised today's style of entry after reading her blog. Take a peek at her blog and see how helplessly defenseless I am. She doesn't even provide tagboard for me to fight back my pride in speaking Mandarin, tsk. I was like, just testing her Mandarin... like, you know.. like, right? Righttttt.

Don't forget to contact me if there's any job vacancy.

Expo Experience

Heads blocking, goes to show how tall I am.

Sorry for putting the blog on temporary hiatus, I was really busy with stuff.

Last Sunday, I went to expo to take a look at the IT fair and also to support a friend at the Big Boyz Toyz exhibition. I'm glad she ended up winning.

At the IT fair, things were really, REALLY CHEAP. Some things went for as low as half the original price. I didn't buy anything as I was exhausted from swimming across a sea of people, and I didn't really have anything to buy in mind. The next time I come to IT fair, I'm sure to bring lots of cash with me. Maybe I'll wear a shirt with needles poking out of it as well, just so I won't trade sweats with a million strangers.

I am currently craving for: World of Warcraft.
Badly.

To be discussed in next entry in the near future.

Edit: Added a clearer pic of the exhibition's contestants:

Lost your phone?

What should you do if you lost your hand phone ?

Forwarding this useful info to all h/p users....
Just in case you lose your mobile or it gets stolen.
Do u know this little trick?

A 'get your own back' if you have your mobile stolen.
May be of interest to Mobile Users among you.
To check your Mobile phone's serial number,
key in the following digits on your phone:

* # 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen.
This number is unique to your handset.
Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.
Should your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider
and give them this code.

They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief
changes the SIM card your phone will be totally useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know
that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.

If everybody does this, there would be no point in stealing
mobile
phones. Please do this now & keep the 15 digit code somewhere
safe just in case. Let your friends know about this.

This memo will be too late if you only remember after your phone
is stolen.

-----------------------------
I got this info from a forwarded email (thanks to Lee Pei Fen), I think it is very useful for myself since I lost my phone approximately 129381237 times. I hope everyone cooperates to stop mobile phone thievery!

No fairy for my tooth

Ouch. My teeth's hurting right now. I've started wearing trainers again and I never liked it. I think I'm gonna put on bracers by next year to fix my teeth. Mom told me I can get the transparent ones. Sigh, I was supposed to put it by last year or this year, but I didn't give it a go, for a simple reason. I have to have FOUR teeth plucked out. Not just any teeth, but those teeth that are still INSIDE the gums! YOWCH!!

Like ouch.

Shit. Trainer's hurting so bad right now. The feeling's like you just got hit by a bus and all your teeth are falling off. Damn it. But I want good teeth. HOW? *big sigh*
