Pineapple

I didn't intend to blog until weekend, but my hands and head are itchy so here goes a short post!

Yesterday met up with Mr. Faifai who came all the way from Malaysia, with Karad and JJ. He is (supposedly) some famous guy in IT business, and he is also globally recognized. Dinner was on him, I think the bill amounted to $100+, it was in a Japanese restaurant near Raffle De Plaza hotel. Yeah, he isn't of my age group. I thought he was going to be like 45 year old, but he confessed he was only 30+ and going to be a dad soon. Well all in all, I look forward to pawning you in Dota tonight!

Also yesterday, Nut called me up at like 11pm. I discovered some damn funny fact! Confidential so cannot tell you all (yet?). However, I felt so sorry that I hung up the phone because 10 mins after talking, my Dota game started! Sigh. I really felt guilty afterwards. Sorry Nut. Make it up to you another time..

I woke up today and don't know why my hair looks exactly like this:

FYP first critique

Result of the first presentation is out, I barely passed and might fail if I don't improve my work! Sigh...

The announcement showed me shocking results, people who I couldn't imagine would fail did fail, and those I kind of expected to fail, got a clear pass! What the hell.

But anyway, I wouldn't be too bothered with other people's result. I just care to save my own ass. Here onwards, I'm gonna work my ass out and unleash all my powers!

I am also very grateful to my friends who understand that I am very busy at the moment, cannot go out on weekends. These 4 months haven't catch any movie. Kind of no life =(

Cleaning up

I just went to clean up my friendster, took me long painful hours to scan through everyone and delete people up. They were these people whom I added/had added me like 3 years back, yet we don't know each other and stuff. WELL don't blame me! I was like a friendster virgin then...

The number went down from 522 to 390.

I might have missed some, but hey...
I'm proud to say the rest are my friends!

Silence after storm

PFFWAAAHHH.
Another battle has ended. Wednesday was my second presentation (3 more to go), and I didn't sleep the night before. I felt like I was the sleepiest person in the whole universe, and at the rate I was yawning I could probably enter Guinness World Record; about twice a minute. So imagine, within the few hours of that day I yawned like 600 times. Fortunately I didn't break my jaw, although I think a few houseflies managed to fly into my mouth. I was so sleepy that I don't feel sleepy at all, if that makes sense. Unknowingly I fell asleep while watching a friend's presentation. There weren't many chairs in the room so most of us sat/slept on the floor. I woke up right after the lecturers announced to call it a day, and realized that I had drooled unfashionably on the floor. Looking around to make sure nobody noticed it, I quickly grabbed a nearby packet of tissue and wipe it clean. Hmm.. wait, how come so coincidentally got a packet of tissue nearby?

Random picture - credit to Daniel

Reached home around 6.30pm and I slept soon after. Sleeping is truly a luxury and has become one of my hobbies. Albert is kind of useless without sleep. His brain capacity is halved, turning him into a real life Homer Simpson (except for the baldness and belly). I really cannot do without sleep, head to toe will feel strained, body resistance goes down by a mile, and above all that; skin turns bad, dark eye circles, memory loss and whatever-else-have you.

I took a one-day rest and played WoW awhile just now, levelling up from 28 to 30! 10 more levels to my first mount. Huge thanks to both small nut and big nut (I'm not talking dirty), for levelling my Thyral from 26 to 28, giving items and money, and everything else. I haven't seen any gamer as nice as these people. My deepest gratitude =] I think next time I dedicate an entry for them.

By the way, the expansion to WoW, The Burning Crusade, was just released on last Tuesday. In Singapore, the release event was held at Suntec City. I don't know the exact number of people who queued up for the release, but there were easily one to two thousand people or more. Friend of mine told me the queue was until outside the building. I was at home then and I could imagine, there were many nerds and geeks and obese people over there, whose life purpose was no other than to play WoW. I bet they were carrying geeky flags and banners just like this...

But I'm damn sad that I don't have a copy of The Burning Crusade yet =(

Quick update

Damn frustrated.
Tommorow is my presentation #1, and I still have things not done up. This is like a battle, a final war, in which I already got wounded by a flurry of arrows but I have to either fight on or fall down and die.

Me and my coursemates

Proof that I'm in stress

The Best Treatment for a Twitching Eye
By Dr. Ben Kim
DrBenKim.com

Have you ever wondered what makes the muscles around your eyes twitch and flutter from time to time? The answer to this question is relatively simple. And so is the remedy.

All of the six hundred plus muscles that exist throughout your body and head are supplied by nerves that originate in your brain. If you take it from the top, your brain induces a signal that travels down through your brain stem and spinal cord and out through peripheral nerves to reach each of your muscles. The flow of electricity through this pathway is what allows you to have motor control over your muscles.

Your brain and spinal cord are much like the water tower in your city. Both are full of energy and just itching to gush electricity and water out through peripheral nerves and city water pipes, respectively. In the case of your municipal water supply, you are able to regulate how much water comes out of the pipes in your home with your faucets. In the case of your body, your peripheral nerves are your faucets and must regulate how much electron flow is allowed to come out of your spinal cord and travel to your muscles.

Getting back to what causes a twitching eye, the twitching muscle in question is called your orbicularis oculi muscle. This muscle has two parts: a palpebral part that allows you to open and close your eyelids, and an orbital part that allows you to have a wide range of expressive looks with your eyes, a good example being when your eyes open really wide with surprise.

The peripheral nerve that acts as a faucet for your orbicularis oculi muscle is called the temporal branch of your facial nerve. So, for you to open and close your eyelids or open your eyes as wide as possible, the temporal branch of your facial nerve must allow just enough electricity to come out from your brain and brain stem and travel to your orbicularis oculi muscle.

In the vast majority of cases of a twitching or fluttering eye, the problem is with the temporal branch of the facial nerve. When this nerve becomes fatigued, it acts like a worn down water faucet - the flow of electrons is no longer smooth and even. The result is that your orbicularis oculi muscle will twitch or flutter as it receives jolts of uncontrolled information from your brain and brain stem.

In case you missed it, I just gave you the answer to the most common cause of a twitching eye: fatigue. And fatigue goes hand in hand with stress.

When the muscles that surround your eyes twitch and flutter, chances are very good that you are fatigued and stressed. So the remedy for a twitching eye is rest and relaxation.

Not muscle relaxants, not pain killers, not chiropractic adjustments.

Rest and relaxation. Period.

-----------------end of article-----------------

I was a bit concerned when the lower eyelid of my left eye frequently twitches in the recent period of time. So, I went onto the internet to check what is up with this irritating spasm, and found the above article which is one of the best I could find.

Stress and fatigue make perfect sense. The stress of FYP is no shit. Honestly I think I haven't been hardworking enough, or rather I work too slow. A coursemate of mine consulted the lecturer, and this is what the lecturer told him:

"If I were you I'd be shitting bricks right now"

By the way I didn't go school after rushing my work just now (read my previous post). My (another) lecture is on leave, because she is having stomach flu. So lame. Then again, she is just a human like the rest of us, although her drawing skills are beyond human standard.

I need rest and relaxation!

I think I'm damn pro.
I rushed 3 months' work in one week,
Now I'm gonna rush 3 days' work in TWO HOURS.

Which explains why this blog post is so short =]

My lecturer once told me, in Design school, once your Final Year Project starts, I'm gonna eat FYP, drink FYP, sleep FYP, breathe FYP. And I thought she was kidding.

Point of insanity

That's it. I've gone mad. FYP stress is WAYYY too much for my puny dumb dumb brain. I broke into insanity (also thanks to Fergalicious song getting me high) about an hour before I post this blog. I put up my clubbing gear and started dancing around! GOD HELP US!

Not only that, I shamelessly started to invite people to view webcam. I swear it felt like I was on drugs. Could it have been the mocha cake I ate awhile ago? Did a lot of retarded stuff on my webcam, Daniel and Daryl being a live testimony to that. It took about an hour before my high mood subsided. Took some MSN screenshots.

Look at his face!! STUNNED

..and so he changed his nick. Look at the time.

After I un-geared

Daniel made up some HILARIOUS comic using my webcam pics and Daryl's. DAMN FUNNY. But cannot publish here cuz Daniel asked me to do retarded poses. I bet you're dying to see!!! HAHAHAH

Next entry in the near future, I'm going to blog an entry called Pick Up Some Humility, look out for it.

Tidbitz for gamers

A few days have passed, and I barely touched WoW. And hence no screenshots of my journey as well. I miss questing around with my Paladin *sad*. Kinda feel bad for small Nutz, we usually quest together and then I told him I can't play much till next month.

Apparently I have tempted some of this blog's readers to get into playing WoW by posting those screenshots. It is indeed a great game, especially for those who crave for MMORPG games. But the thing is, it is a tad bid expensive and you "lose" money each day that you don't play. Still, it's got 7 million players, and I bet if it was free-to-play the number will double up to say the least.

Just imagine how rich these Blizzard people could be. WoW costs around SGD$23 a month. 7 million x 23 = SGD$161 million a month! That much money can last me a lifetime.

If you're into WoW but can't afford it and still dying to play it, there's some "substitutes" available. There's WoW private server and also Cabal Online. Cabal online has 90% identical interface to WoW. In my view, Cabal offers more fun for "soloing", whereas WoW focuses on player interactions.

L to R: Force Shielder, Warrior, Wizard, Blader, Force Blader, Force Archer

*DROOLS* Oh-em-gee. All the six characters wearing Osmium gears! How can you not possibly fall in love with the two Osmium Katana our dear Blader is holding! Thanks to Cabal Online, I have a fad to Osmium-ish stuff. There's this shoes in Nike shop that has an Osmium look on it, 's called Nike Laser or something, couldn't leave the shop without buying one.

That picture alone was enough to get me into playing Cabal Online. The Archer uses a gun, how cool is that. I really, really like the concept for Cabal Online. In contrast to WoW, Cabal Online is very futuristic. In WoW, you get different sorts of animals/monsters for mount. In Cabal Online, you get what they call Astral Board and Astral Bike! They aren't like your ordinary skateboard or motorbike. These kickass gadgets FLY.

Link to Cabal Online is available to the right.

Webcam moment

I took a screenshot of my screen when me and Sherlynn were webcamming. Her connection was bad, the cam froze a lot of times, and there was one time it froze while she had a gong look.

LOL! I hope she doesn't come to my blog! Or else I'm going to get sued. She is gonna sue me with the 500 bucks she earned Christmas-caroling.

Death Note 2 started another bert-looks-like-L thing again.

Look like meh?

Hmmm maybe look like lah. Both got two eyes, one nose, one mouth.

Another quickie

I deleted one of my previous posts due to an inaccurate information provided in the entry. It wasn't entirely my fault; I just wrote what people have told me. I shouldn't be too trusting, really. People are abusing my gullibility.

Which post was it that I deleted, you asked? Well, if you don't know/can't remember, all the better it is.

And to summarise what's been up:

-I'm still busy with project, very much so
-Today was a pissed-ful day
-But my day was soon made at 10.30pm
-I'm missing a certain someone.. or two :)
-In case you're wondering, no it's not you -_-

I'm sorry for making sugh ugly entries these days. I haven't the time to find materials. Things will get better once I'm not busy.

Stop spamming adds

Don't mean to show off at all, but...

Pls stop adding..?

I have repeatedly mentioned in my friendster that if you don't know me don't just anyhow click add? At least message then maybe I will reply. Anyway I removed most of my pics already, so hopefully there won't be anymore twits and twats, who don't even bother to read my profile, adding me up.

Aside from that, I'm damn proud to say that the friends I already have are all great people. I love them all. And I am touched that these people take me as their friend.

I love my family.
I love my friends.
I love my dota team no matter how pissed I get during the game at times.
I love friendly people.

And Filipino maids should really shave their armpit hair especially when they like to wear tubes. Things like this might ruin my Sunday you know.

Sorry that's random :(

Special thanks to Peggy Heng aka sadist-xiaoqiang-killer for cheering me up! She dedicated her latest entry to me!

Blizzard ruins life

I've only got ten minuutes to blog before my Dota game starts.

So, I've been busy with my World of Warcraft. I think it is starting to consume me. Arghh! Blizzard is too crafty for ol' gullible me. You see I have a 4-months duration project, and now I have to rush them in like one week. The next time you read about me might be from a mortuary page.

Still I wish to entice my readers about the beauty of WoW.
I told you about the tram I took in Stormwind, but did not get a clear screenshot of it. As I said you can see the wintery land outside from the tram:

I have journeyed to places aplenty now. Some things in the World of Warcraft could turn out to be rather amusing. My Paladin is stronger than I thought she could be. Aside from banishing the evil forces, bashing the skulls of bandits and brutes, she can also...

Do mining underwater. Like whoa.

Speared through by javelins? Amen, not a problem.

And here are some random screenshots I took.

A flying mount. Cool beans.

The female advantage... read the chat log.

Marshal nutty nut.

10 minutes is already up! My dota team is waiting for me. See you another day!

*40 minutes later*
The dota game sucks major balls.
Bad teammates recur my temperament blood.

Journey continues

Happy new year 2007 to everyone!

I had family dinner in New Year's Eve. Was supposed to meet the gang after dinner, the plan was to countdown at Esplanade and then ton over Ritz's house I think. I felt extremely lazy though, the idea of squirming against a million other people during countdown is a total turn-off.

SO. I did the only thing left for me to do. Stay at home and play WoW. Heheh. And hence the journey continues...

From major city Stormwind, I travelled out of homeland to Dun Morogh, land of the Dwarves. I took a tram, or more precisely called Deeprun Tram, from Stormwind to Ironforge (capital city of the Dwarves). The tram was... amazingly real enough! As the tram moves you could briefly see the icy land of Dun Morogh. Beautiful. The tram, however, has no doors whatsoever, so I decided to see if I could fall off of it. I jumped down, and I fell off from the tram, I was like "ZOMG, I'm gonna get ran over and die"

If you enlarge the image, you can see a caring rat accompanying my lonely journey on the tram railway. Okay, so I didn't die and I visited Ironforge for the very first time. It was big, but I think not as vast as the human stronghold of Stormwind. Despite being built on an wintery land, Ironforge looks like a hot place. It is basically a giant furnace where Dwarves get cooked forge things. Near the gates of Ironforge, though, was something else. At one corner sits the Greatfather Winter (another name for Santa?) giving out free gifts! Talk about a delightful surprise.

I unwrapped the gifts and stared in disappointment. It was just some hp/mp heal foodstuff. No 1337 items. So much for worshipping the fake Santa. Anyhow, I'm realy getting addicted to WoW. Yesterday morning was my first Dungeon run at Deadmines. There were like 5 of us in a group, and everyone has a role. Being a Paladin puts me in charge of healing. I have just witnessed how cool my Paladin could be in instances (dungeons). My whole party like, got killed, and I ressurected all of them in a jiffy! And this situation repeated a few times - the boss killed everyone in my team while I dealt the last blow. Then I rez everybody back to life. It was just awesome. They even said I was doing a good healing.

Today I ran for Deadmines again, but only in a group of two people, me and my lvl 60 guildmate. Gotten a lot of scoldings from him for doing accidental aggro pulls, hee. I felt kinda discouraged and turned off for awhile. But I'm still grateful, cause it's not everyday that a level 60 wants to waste their time helping a noob, total stranger at that, at zero benefit. <3 nutty nutz! CA FTW.
